Comparative Study on the Soothing Effect of Three Cosmetic Products on Induced Skin Irritation

Sensitive skin is a highly prevalent issue. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the effectiveness of different combinations of natural active ingredients in inducing a soothing effect on the skin after capsaicin-induced irritation.
A randomized split-face clinical study was conducted on 24 healthy female subjects. Three cosmetic combinations were tested against the vehicle:
🔹 Product A (SolÃa TSW + P. tricornutum diatom algae extract)
🔹 Product B (SolÃa TSW + diatom algae extract + Annona cherimola fruit extract)
🔹 Product C (SolÃa TSW + diatom algae extract + Annona cherimola fruit extract + niacinamide)
Before each application of the study product (A, B, or C) or the vehicle, a 10% aqueous solution of capsaicin was applied to induce skin irritation, simulating the symptoms of sensitive skin.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of these combinations of natural ingredients in soothing the skin after induced irritation, providing further scientific evidence for the development of innovative treatments for sensitive skin.
